Assignments

The readings for this course consist of the listed portions of the casebook, Hall, Bobinski & Orentlicher, Medical Liability and Treatment Relationships (Second Edition) (Aspen 2005), listed simply as page numbers, as well as the supplemental materials. The latter  will be available on the class webpage, linked to this syllabus. Note that most are edited; the editing is not always explicit.

We will also have a guest lecture by Dr. David Birnbach, currently scheduled for Nov. 3. I will also release up to six students whose schedules permit on October 20th or 22nd to permit them to participate with second year medical students in structured discussions through hyptheticals of ethical issues of consent (10/20) or confidentiality (10/22)(more details to follow as we get closer to these dates).
